Explore The Endlessly Haunting Tones Of This Unique Instrument!
To capture beauty and quirky nature of these instruments 5x round robins and 3 velocity layers were utilised. What you hear is the sound of the drums being patted, clapped and slapped to unearth their haunting tones.
A sound design patch also comes with the instrument, which produces a pad-like sound that would probably work well in a horror movie.
Sonic Zest’s Glass Hand Drums sits perfectly in any mix. It’s great for any set-up and is ideal for playing lullabies and other lead melodies that you may be working on.

Connor – :
As mentioned on my review of “Grand Glass Marimba”, I’m a sucker for anything glassy sounding, especially if it can play delicately and quietly to add a tuned percussion layer to a composition without it sounding the exact same as every other vibraphone-type instrument out there. I own SonicZest’s Darker Tones too and have always enjoyed those sounds. Those and this one are great “come in clutch” libraries. One point off for the too-simple, too-small SonicZest UI I never really like too much, but a 9/10 nonetheless!

For the price you can’t go wrong with this deal. If you need a good quality mellow sort-of Hand Pan/Marimba Sound in your tracks then it’s a bargain. The Kontakt interface is barebones but the samples are great quality for the money and it is quite responsive to play. If you know how to customise and/or code Kontakt then you could create a UI with more features for personal use which is what I intend to do 🙂
I was looking for this kind of sound for some tracks I’m working on so I am very happy with this purchase 😀
