Overview
FRMS features a clean, minimal interface designed to facilitate the control of advanced concepts using a simple, efficient and easy to use layout. The main window consists of a status bar across the top, a collapsable menu down the left side, two horizontal layer panels in the center and a performance zone across the bottom.
The performance zone includes two note generation methods which can be toggled between; a standard piano keys layout and a hexagonal chorder display for one-touch chords. The layer panels use several tabs for easy access to the different groups of parameters and functions.
By displaying two separate layer panels simultaneously, it is possible to manage an intuitive and productive FRMS workflow, for both production and live performance.

Amazingly versatile software at a great price! The ability to granulate a live signal is a huge advantage over other options.

It has a ways to go and they are on the right track as it is currently a run-of-the-mill sampler or granular synth. Currently, it is unable to synchronize to the DAW’s tempo a large part of the scarce and poor library it has, (there are more libraries but they are paid and probably suffer from the same problem); being useless for playing with notes, (holding a note is your only option if you’re lucky and it matches the tempo of your project). Obviously everything that is arpeggiated within the synthesizer will go to tempo but not the original sample itself, unable to adapt. I think FRMS should have tempo detection in the sampler or via macro and to make this possible. I think that if you don’t have any, it could be a very good option, but the library base is weak as a starting point (although the more artistic point is that we develop our own presets with our own samples). If it’s on sale, it’s definitely worth it. FRMS can only grow.

Great plugin to get some unusual layered sounds. The granular engine is easy to use. Also the FM part is easy to handle.
