I originally tried to contact NI with a view to buying ‘session acoustic strum guitar’, BUT NI couldn’t be bothered to answer my very simple question of whether their product would be compatible with Kontakt 5. I then saw this ‘Virtual Guitarist Amber’ (which was very forthcoming with it compatibilities) a bought it after first trying it out (for about 10 minutes). The realistic acoustic sounds are very good and the ease of use is also pretty easy. The only reason I gave it a 9 was rather than a 10 was because for some unknown reason it had a ‘bug’ whereby it suddenly played all the guitars with a muted sound. This disappeared after I rebooted my DAW. I would recommend this product.

Great sounds! I love that I am able to put such realistic guitar sounds in my music productions. There is a great variety to choose from and all can be utilized. I did not find one i would shy away from. The interface is easy and straight forward. Excellent job by Ujam! Well worth the investment.

I bought Virtual Guitarist Amber from UJAM a few days ago. Certainly I have not had time to investigate it thoroughly. But my first impression is very good. Performance and quality are similar to Native Instruments or Heavy Ocity guitars, but with their own peculiarities. I will not go into which one is more or less accomplished. But this product at this price is a real gift.

Amber is a great sounding plugin and easy way to incorporate acoustic guitar sounds into my songs. I often record late at night, and using my acoustic guitar with a mic isn’t practical. Amber allows me to easily rough out an arrangement, change strumming patterns and guitar tone on the fly while staying in the creative zone. Happy I picked it up. UJam’s fully functional demos are the best – was able to make sure the plugin operated on my Mac without issues, and that it delivered on what I was looking for. The demo sealed the deal!

As a guitarist I’m always skeptical of guitar libraries/VST’s but I’ve grown to find them useful in the right circumstances. Amber has a nice variety of tones & phrases that can help you jump start a track quickly & almost effortlessly. The tone can be shaped dramatically to delve into other worldly textures as well. If you’re not a guitarist it’s a great tool to add to your box when you find yourself needing the sound & vibe that only an acoustic guitar can deliver. Great buy!

Very solid plugin. Probably not worth the full retail price, but well worth it on sale. As a non-guitar player, it does a superb job of quietly filling out my tracks in a supporting roll. Sure, fully exposed you can likely tell it’s not real, but in context and used appropriately, it sounds completely realistic. I have other guitar plugins that do excellent picking, but not strumming. If you have a need for instant gratification acoustic strumming in a support role context, this plugin is top notch.

This product sounds way better in person than in any of the video reviews that I watched. It is excellent, and it’s so easy to play and to come up with fantastic parts by just experimenting with fingerings. Even just randomly playing groups of keys produces some sweet chord variations and is very inspiring for coming up with new and unexpected progressions.
It would be a mistake to hesitate on this deal. Even if you are a guitar player, this is going to help you come up with great ideas. The only shortcoming which I hope UJAM will address in the next version is that it would be nice if chords were displayed in fretboard diagrams (just as they are in AAS Strum GS-2) so that you can immediately play whatever chords Amber is playing on your own guitar with the identical fingerings. I took away one star for that reason… otherwise the product is brilliant.
