WHY CREATE THE EVOLUTION: BUNDLE?
Modern Trailer and Hybrid music is a very unique genre, located at the junction of several styles at once. Here the elements of sound design are harmoniously interlaced with melodic instruments. With these instruments, Keep Forest have provided an opportunity for deep customization, which allows you to quickly create your own unique sound!
The Main Page
The main user interface was designed with simplicity and flexibility in mind, so that you can focus on the task of making great music rather than searching endlessly for the necessary tools!
The Main Page provides you with all of the following controls to help you shape the initial sound (dependent on the patch being used):
On the left-hand side of the interface:
- ATT (Attack) – Controls the attack (fade in) time.
- DEC (Decay) – Controls the time it takes for the volume to fade from the maximum value to the sustain value.
- SUS (Sustain) – Controls the level at which the envelope will sustain while the key is held.
- REL (Release) – Controls the release (fade out) time of the envelope after the key is released.
- Set Color – Allows the user to set and save any of the 5 available colours for the GUI.
On the right-hand side of the interface:
- Pan – Controls the pan.
- Tune – Controls tuning in the range of one octave.
- Stereo – Adjust the stereo image of the selected sample, all the way from mono to a super wide stereo sound!
- Glide – Adjust the amount of time it will take for one not to “glide” smoothly to the next.
Additional controls:
- Hybrid Control – The big center knob with the on/off switch controls the following effects dependent on patch:
Playable & Trailer Patches – Combination of Screamer, Saturation & Equalization.
Rhythm Patches – Crossfading between five dynamic layers.
Guitar Patches – Vibrato.
- Whoosh/Long – Allows you to turn off the build-up or tail of a sample leaving only the impact.
- Stop – Stop all voices from playing.

The Motion Page
The Motion Page is where you can choose from a wide variety of movement and effects parameters that will enable you to bring your sounds to life!
For the rhythm patch types there are the following important controls:
- Rhythm Pattern – Located in the upper right part of the instrument, this is intended for changing the rhythm pattern of all rhythms in the instrument.
- Slice Attack – Allows you to adjust the Attack value for each part of the selected sample.
- Slice Release – Allows you to adjust the Release value for each part of the selected sample.
Every instrument has 10 effects available to it:
- Reverberation – A selection of Convolution Reverbs
- Delay
- EQ – 3 band EQ
- Saturation
- Compression
- Distortion
- Lo-Fi
- Filter – lo-pass, high-pass and band-pass filters
- Screamer
Additional controls include:
- Link Swtich – Used in combination with the Filter control to link the Cutoff parameter with note velocity.
- Random Rhythms – Allows you to randomly generate rhythmic patterns based on the selected sample.
- Random Table – Let’s you generate a randomly selected sequence.
Evolution also features 4 independent sequencers: step sequencer, gate sequencer, pan control and filter control. click on the sequencer you’d like to edit (SGPF) and use the on/off switches to activate/deactivate them.
The Modulation Page
You may ask why we need a modulation section if we already have appropriate sequencing? The advantage of modulations over sequences lies in the relative smoothness and continuity of modulation functions.
Despite the fact that there are 32 steps in the sequencers on the Motion Page, the curves described in the sequences can only be discrete. This means you can only achieve absolute smoothness in changing Volume and Panorama by using the controls presented in the Modulation Page.
The Modulation Page consists of two parts: Pan and Volume modulations and both modulation controls have identical controls as follows:
- Amount (Mix) – Allows you to control the mix between the original signal and the modulated signal from 0% -100%
- Sync – Allows you to synchronize the modulation effects to the host DAW tempo
- Rate – 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/4T, 1/8T, 1/16T, 1/32T, 1/4D, 1/8D, 1/16D, 1/32D (0.01HZ to 29.3HZ)
- SIN – Sine waveform
- TRI – Triangle waveform
- RECT – Rectangle waveform
- SAW – Saw waveform
- RND – Random waveform
As you can see, there are quite a few controls here that will allow you to add a whole range of interesting movement options to the basic sounds that are provided.
Combined with the Modulation Page you will have an almost unlimited number of ways to mangle, distort and make a sound uniquely yours!
