What Is ENFORCER?
ENFORCER, a kick drum designer with benefits, can be triggered by your source audio material. Thus it becomes easy and convenient to pimp up existing percussive audio material.
Beef up sounds or add only a hint of weight, exchange kick drum tails and tune them easily using semitones or completely exchange given source sounds. To top it off, there is a dynamics section which you can use to clean up low frequencies or make space for the heavy bass load to come.
A scalpel for punch with unmatched precision. Have fun, push your sub to the limits – in an extremely controllable way.
GUI Overview
HEADER
- Presets – by left clicking in the middle of the preset name a drop down menu opens which shows you several categories, each containing a set of presets.
- A>B Comparison – compare two different settings.
- SC, Sidechain – this makes it possible to trigger the ENFORCER using a different source.
DETECTOR & TRIGGER FILTER
The DETECTOR is the heart of the ENFORCER, shown in the big circle in the middle of the GUI. There are several ways to tweak the display to get very tight control of when the ENFORCER should be triggered.
- Input Meter & Effect Meter – The INPUT METER gives you a quick amplitude overview of the dry input signal. The EFFECT METER displays the amplitude of the wet effect signal ENFORCER produces.
- Zoom ½x, 1x, 2x – These alter the speed and therefore the amount of time you can overview within the DETECTOR.
- Thresholds – Determine when the ENFORCER gets triggered and how long it should wait until it gets triggered again.
- Scale – Basically zooms the amplitude in and out.
- Release – Lets you smooth the DETECTOR waveform.
- Trigger Filter – A bandpass which isolates certain frequencies within your signal to trigger only specific spots of the input signal depending on the frequency.
- Freq, Frequency – Set the frequency of the TRIGGER FILTER at which the bandpass should be.
- Filter – Activates or deactivates the TRIGGER FILTER.
- Audition – For the ease of use you can audition the bandpassed input signal. That makes it a lot easier to find the right frequency ENFORCER uses to be triggered.
PITCH & AMPLITUDE
On the left you will find PITCH and AMPLITUDE, the most important parameters to tweak a sound to your needs.
- Hi, High Pitch – determines which frequencies will be reached after the attack (ATT) time.
- Lo, Low Pitch – determines the starting frequency and even more important the ending frequency when the end of the decay (DEC) time is reached.
- Key Mode – in key mode you can “tune” the effect sound in a musical manner.
- Link Pitch – by pressing the chain symbol you can link HI and LO PITCH and LO PITCH gets control over HI PITCH in relation to the previously set amount.
- Midi Mode – an alternate way to trigger ENFORCER without the need for the Detector.
- Att, Pitch Attack – shows how much time it takes for the frequency / tone to go from the starting LO frequency to the HI frequency.
- Dec, Pitch Decay – shows how much time it takes for the frequency / tone to go back from the HI frequency to the LO frequency after the ATT.
- Att, Amplitude Attack – behaves the same way as the PITCH ATTACK but it changes the loudness behavior rather than the frequency / tones.
- Dec, Amplitude Decay – behaves the same way as the PITCH DECAY but it changes the loudness rather than the frequency.
OSCILLATOR
The OSCILLATOR is the engine of the ENFORCER. There are different synthesizers that you can choose from to alter the overall sonic experience.
- Color – the lower the color, the softer, more sinus-like the resulting sound will be. The higher the COLOR the more character and overtones will be produced.
- Att, Color Attack – determines how long it takes to reach the set amount of maximum COLOR.
- Dec, Color Decay – determines how long it takes to go from the set maximum COLOR back to zero COLOR.
DUCKING
The DUCKING makes room to push the low frequencies ENFORCER produces to give more headroom and an overall lower acoustic experience.
- Gain – sets the full spectrum DUCKING of the original input signal corresponding to the length of the AMPLITUDE ATT + DEC.
- Filter – to avoid rumbling and a low frequency mess, the DUCKING FILTER helps you to clean up the frequencies the ENFORCER produces
- Att, Ducking Attack – using this parameter you can let all the transients of the original signal pass through and only duck when the ENFORCER reaches very low frequencies.
- Dec, Ducking Decay – using this parameter you can create extremely pumping results or smooth and subtle DUCKING behaviors.
SETTINGS
- Polyphonic Mode – might be useful in certain situations but should be used with caution. When activated it can easily add low frequencies to an unpleasant amount.
- Dynamic Gain – this option rides the ENFORCER effect sound along with the input signal.
- Stereo – only available when DYNAMIC GAIN is activated, in STEREO MODE the ENFORCER signal gets panned according to the input signal.
- Phase – with this option you can switch the phase of ENFORCER’S generated sound.
OUTPUT
- Dry / Wet – determines the ratio between the DRY, original input signal and the WET, synthesized signal ENFORCER produces.
- Gain – gives you the option to lower the output gain.
- Output Meter – a red LED indicates digital clipping at ENFORCER’s output.
- Soft Clipping – avoids clipping of the combined output signal.
NKS-READY

What can I say about ENFORCER? It’s one of those plugins that if I told you what it does you still wouldn’t realize how useful it is – until you needed it! I am currently using ENFORCER to add punch to the smoothed off transients of heavily saturated 808’s in Trap music mixes. Using the Trigger’s Threshold and the ‘Punch Thump’ preset you can make those subs slam and negate the need for a second kick – which is the style right now. Killer, killer processor.”

“I’ve been playing with the ENFORCER now for a few days and it’s a tool I knew I needed, but didn’t know it existed! The way you can sculpt the sound, is powerful. The ducking compressor is a really useful touch, too. I’ve used it on a few tracks already and it just fits. The gain reduction display is very helpful, and the presets were very useful. It’s quick to dial in your own sound. Looks great, sounds great.”

“I’ve been a big fan of ENFORCER since the first time I’ve had the chance to play around with it. Not only is it easy to use, it’s even easier to get instant results. People who watch our trailers know how much we love great sounding hits and impacts, ENFORCER does a great job of sweetening those up even further.”

A stunning tool that yields instant, surgical depth to loops and audio that need that extra something! Well worth the price offered here!!
Ka – :
Enforcer Rocks. Provides a solid punch for your sounds. It adds power and volume. Easy to install works well.
Emmanuel – :
Nice plugin to give punch to your beats. Took me 10 minutes to figure out the basics. need to dig it a bit more to get the full potential
Yotam – :
Such a great addition to your arsenal.
Instant “oomph” and body.
When used creatively, can become a rather unique tool for sound design.
Brent – :
Enforcer is an excellent and easy-to-use tool for reinforcing audio, whether you’re a sound designer or a producer.
The gist is that it takes an incoming signal and triggers a synthesized sound that you can blend in with your original sound. You also have full, easy control over the envelope and the way that your signal ducks the one generated by Enforcer.
For instance, you might have foley impacts triggering a low sine wave that really gives it that beefiness. You might pad out kick drums with some extra sub or click, or add noise to a snare. It’s extremely easy to get it going and makes quick work of a process that would otherwise be a pain and require multiple tools to set up.
This is the fastest way to get that heavy, cinematic sound. Highly recommend. I only took one point off because the GUI is quite small and not resizable.
Alexander – :
great plugin for a great price! Definitely has use for music and sound design and not only for adding bass like some other plugins. You could use it so sync kicks to a generative synth arp for example. Of course, everything it does can be done with a signal generator and some creative editing/shaping, but this plug-in will save you soo much time, and I think that’s the most important thing.
James – :
awesome tool for layering kicks but it obviously doesn’t stop there… also great for tuning snares or just using the audio envelope trigger to add layers of noise & texture to just about anything
Wayne – :
I’m very happy with my purchase of Enforcer…whether it’s the the sub, bass, or kick, getting the bottom frequencies to sit “nice n’ sweet” in the mix is quickly achieved.
alexey – :
Finally I have this tool. It Changes my sound perfectly the way I imaging it . The presets not only a great starting point but can be you final result. Must have plugin for composers and sound designers as well as mixing engineers.
Helge – :
Since i’m mainly recording and editing voices ENFORCER is not yet in my active workflows-repertoire. But i suppose for sounddesign and especially music there is room for creative possibilities to explore. For today i vote it a ten because of the concept and well-thought and good looking interface inspiring for new interaction between source dynamic and triggered enhancement, controllable with lots of effects on top.
Darcey – :
UI window is very small, effect it has could be a lot better, some dials are way too sensitive, same or better effect can be had side chaining an EQ.
Joseph – :
It’s INCREDIBLE!!! It re-inspires me every time I open it! It is not overly-complicated by “filler features”. It places the precise amount of “idea pockets” which I need on my “Sonic-Creativity” pants (so to speak).
