Explore The Inspiring Sounds Of This Historical Grand Piano
Remaining in great condition in the collection of Andreas Beurmann, this instrument is available digitally for the first time with the Grand Piano library, captured in its original tuning at 435 Hz (presets at 440 Hz are included).
realsamples captured the sound with 32 velocity layers per note for great dynamics and expression. Furthermore, they recorded 8 key release sounds per key. In addition to the samples, the Grand Piano library contains an essay in German by Dr. Andreas Beurmann, explaining the background of the instrument.
The sample library contains nearly 3300 single samples.
For the recording, realsamples employed vintage Neumann™ TLM-170® microphones in conjunction with Crane Song™ Flamingo® preamps and Universal Audio™ 2192® digital converters. The instrument was recorded at 192 kHz/24 bits, downsampled to 44.1 kHz/24bits.

This is a wonderful library! Great playability with the charm of a historic instrument. It won’t be for everybody though. It’s not meant for a modern track where you need a clear and plain sound. But for anyone, scoring a period drama for example or wanting to have a unique piano sound without hopping on the train of the the all too worn out felt piano, this is the one to get. It has a rich and warm sound, full of overtones and frequencies and sounds great out of the box. The demos on the companies’ website display the exact sound as the VST in your DAW. To my ears, as I compare how the instrument sounds in my DAW, they are not processed.
