“The Urban Cookbook Vol 1” comes with just over 1GB of the freshest ingredients, allowing you to easily cook up the perfect beats for the latest Urban Genres.
A diverse range of sources were carefully captured for inclusion in the Cookbook. Vintage drum machines including the Roland TR-606, 808 and 909, Akai MPC60, E-mu SP12, along with modern classics such as the DSI Tempest are at your disposal.
Also on board are vividly-sampled analog synths including the Roland SH-101 and Super Jupiter, acoustic instrumentation in the shape of a Pearl/Tama/Zildjian drum kit, as well as a shedload of hand percussion.
To achieve maximum analogue warmth, saturation and punch, Goldbaby utilized tape, vinyl dub plates, vintage samplers and a range of high-end outboard gear at the recording and processing stages.
The mix-ready results include not only all the elements of a standard kit such as kicks, snares, claps, hi-hats, toms, crash and ride cymbals, but also congas, bongos, blocks, bells, claves, shakers, triangles, tambourines, and even pipes, tap shoes, and whistles.
Many of the hits come in multiple versions, with different processing applied.

I use Kontakt, Battery and Geist. Tons of sounds for each. The bad news for Kontakt users is that the nki files are basic instruments (no GUI) with kit/construction kit layouts; The good news for Kontak users is that the backend is therefore open for tweaks, sequencing, arpeggiation, etc. The Battery and Geist kits are impressive for sound, setup and variety. Good-sounding samples and nicely categorized. No skimping on kit setups (e.g., out of 135 Battery kits, only two had less than 16 included pads). Nice variety between (e.g., voice, drums, perc, pads, chords, etc.) and among (e.g., cymbal, conga, drum, etc., variations) sounds. The Geist library also includes 49 presets in addition to its 145 kits. A lot of no-brainer value for a no-painer price.
