Classic Synth Design That’s Easy To Pick Up But Almost Impossible To Put Down!
Like many classic hardware synths, “Vacuum Pro” has a straightforward layout in which you can see the flow of your signal from left to right and there is only one “mode” of operation (i.e., no separate “play” or “edit” modes).
Furthermore, nearly all of the buttons and knobs have only one function. These design elements make it easy to develop “muscle memory” and confidently reach for the right knob without having to actively think about what you’re doing.
VINTAGE VIBES
Vacuum Pro is a powerful combination of two separate synthesizer parts that can be stacked, split, and layered to produce big, wide and fat analog sounds!
Each Vacuum Pro part starts with two wide-range, vacuum tube oscillators that can be synched, detuned, and set to various octave levels. Plus, Quad Detune controls per oscillator make it easy to quickly dial in lush sounds. For an even bigger sound, the built-in Doubling effect instantly widens and thickens up your patch.
Shape your sound with two vacuum tube filters that include a traditional low-pass filter and a selectable high-pass/band-pass filter. Vacuum Pro also has four envelope generators, matrix-assignable modulation, and a tempo sync’d LFO.
The mixer offers a drive circuit and a tone-warping ring modulator. For authentic analog behaviour, the Age controls let you manipulate the drift of and add dust to your sounds!
Get Synth Smart Quickly… It’s As Easy As One… Two… Three!
The “Vacuum Pro” interface is divided into three distinct parts designed to help you navigate quickly and easily.
Master Section: This section gives you high-level “global” features such as loading/saving sounds or adjusting the volume between the two Parts that make up a sound. If you just want to play the amazing sounds that ship with Vacuum Pro, you only need to understand how this section works—exploring the other sections of the synth is optional.
Synthesizer: This area contains all of the elements that create the sounds of Vacuum Pro (including oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs, etc.)
Performance and Effects Area: This area has a variety of performance-related controls (keyboard, pitch and modulation wheels, and arpeggiator) as well as some “sweetening” effects including Chorus/Phaser and Delay.
PROGRAMMING POWERHOUSE
“Vacuum Pro” comes complete with 350+ tweakable patches created by acclaimed sound designers Richard Devine and Mark Ovenden.
You can load these patches separately into each Vacuum Pro part to combine and experiment with multi-timbral sounds. For instant sound inspiration, Vacuum Pro features Smart Sound Randomization, which randomly generates new settings for either part or both.
Define which modules you want to lock at their current settings, which will be randomised, and then let Smart Sound dial in a patch for you.
GLOBAL CONTROL
Vacuum Pro’s Smart page condenses all the individual parameter controls into eight macro knobs that enable you to quickly shape the sound of your patch without extensive tweaking.
Macro knobs such as Punch, Emphasis, and Complexity add an intuitive workflow for perfecting your programming. Switch back and forth between the micro and macro modes to quickly edit or create your own custom sounds.

Take A Sound & Make It Your Own With Effects & Arps!
In addition to its authentic analog sound, “Vacuum Pro” includes a host of creative tools that are characteristic of classic analog synthesizers. An onboard arpeggiator, which can be tempo sync’d to your DAW, offers a quick way to build melodic runs and short sequences.
A built-in chorus/phaser and delay effects give life and motion to your Vacuum Pro patches. Onscreen pitch bend and modulation wheels add extra expression to any performance and all parameters are MIDI-mappable for performance ease and automated control!
Arpeggiator – This cluster of controls affect the arpeggiator of Vacuum Pro.
- On: This switch turns the arpeggiator on and off. When the arpeggiator is active, the LED below the switch is illuminated and pulses with the running arpeggiator.
- Rate: This knob sets the speed of the arpeggiator. Speeds are set in musical divisions of your DAW’s (digital audio workstation’s) master BPM.
- Mode: This knob sets the progression of the chord you are arpeggiating.
Chorus/Phaser – These controls affect the Chorus and Phaser effects of Vacuum Pro.
- Selector: This three-position switch sets the effect: Chorus, Phaser 1, or Phaser 2.
- Depth: This knob sets the intensity of the selected effect.
- Rate: This knob sets the speed of the selected effect.
- Mix: Determines how much of the effect is mixed in with the original (unprocessed) signal.
Delay – These knobs and switches control the delay effect of Vacuum Pro.
- LPF: Sets the delay effect’s low-pass filter cutoff frequency.
- HPF: Sets the delay effect’s high-pass filter cutoff frequency.
- Time: Sets the delay time. If the Sync parameter is switched on, this parameter is displayed as beat divisions. If the Sync parameter is off, this parameter is shown displayed in seconds.
- Fdbk: Determines how much of the outgoing signal is fed back into the delay module, from 0-100%.
- Mix: Determines how much of the effect is mixed in with the original (unprocessed) signal.
- Sync: Engaging this switch synchronizes the Time parameter to the master clock of your DAW. If this switch is off, the Time parameter is displayed in seconds.
- L-R: This switch engages a “ping-pong” stereo delay mode.
