10GB Electronic Sample Library with 800+ Kontakt Instruments
With over 800 Kontakt instruments (divided into Bass, Brass, Drones, Keys, Lead, Pad, Percussion, Plucked, Rhythmic, SoundFx, Textures & Vox…phew!), Shortnoise 2 has a huge amount of content on offer.
It features an incredible range of electronic and hybrid sounds that can be tweaked easily using the built in effects, sequencers and arepeggiators.
Take advantage of Kontakt’s powerful features with built in effects like Distortion, Amp Simlution and Convolution Reverb (60 custom impulse responses included!)
Create Stunning Modulating Sounds with Ease
Static effects are good. Effects with movement are even better.
Shortnoise 2 comes with a huge modulation section where you can adjust settings for various sources like Modwheel and Aftertouch and route them to e.g. the amount of a distortion effect. It also comes with two LFO´s per note, whereas the first one is polyphonic and has five different wave-shapes.
The “always-there” quickmod section allows the user to control various instrument parameters and/or sound-shaping aspects of an instrument with the turn of a single knob. Simply choose what to control (up to two targets per knob), give your knob a proper label and you´re good to go.
Shortnoise 2
Powerful Pattern Based Step Sequencer
Shortnoise 2 features a powerful and sophisticated 288 (6 * 48) step sequencer, which consists of six patterns that can be changed via key-switches in realtime while performing. Not only can you switch patterns, also each pattern can have its own host-synced rate, swing and duration besides different targets to be modulated.
There’s different playmodes like SEQ, STEP, CHORD along with built-in note-recording, one-shot, halftime and even a “flam” switch per step.

This thing is ridiculous. When I saw 800+ instruments in the description I wasn’t sure, but all of them are insanely good. Not really any “acoustic” or “sampled” insturments in this, but basically all electronic and synthesized stuff. Its taking me forever to get through them all but for the price this thing is bonkers.

George – :
I was using the free v1.. found there lots of interesting useable stuff.. but v2 includes the 1 while the new content is amazingly well 🙂 if you’re thinking buying it, no second thoughts needed
Wolfgang – :
Great sound – check out the free version ShortNoise 1 to get an idea how the Library sounds (Epic and Dark).
I love it – if you build Multis you will get bombastic Epic and Dark Sounds like Elysion ….
Some samples are missing – i have to check this phenomenon in detail, but you can simple fix that problem in the key-mapping area of Kontakt. In my feeling some instruments are “oversampled”. I think it’s not necessary to sample all keys for synth sounds.
All-In-All i love ShortNoise-2 and the possibility to modify instruments are manifold …………..

Good choice, for decent money.A lot of sound options
To this free Shortnoise 1 and I have what to do for very long.
Thank you vstbuss.com
Jerimiah – :
Great deal, also comes with Shortnoise 1 so its really 2 for 10 dollars, ©god source for extra sounds.
Robert – :
Shortnoise is one of the best collections out there. There’s a little bit of everything, and a ton of it is great.
Allen – :
Every Instrument I have used in Shortnoise 2 has been deep and quite complex. It’s the depth of the sounds that I find fascinating. I found a use for these sounds the many I heard them. My primary synths are usually Ascension by W.A Productions, and Xpand2!, but this little beast had sounds that rivaled both of those. In addition to this VST Buzz through in Shortnoise 1 for free which was very close to equally as compelling. For the price you cannot beat 800 sounds. I average around 12 sounds per song. It will take me a long time to examine the complete library for my use, but so far it’s excellent.

Sehr coole Kontakt Library mit guten bis sehr guten Sounds für diverse Musikrichtungen. Gut muss nicht immer teuer sein. Absolut zu empfehlen.
takao – :
There are lots of basic sounds to interesting sounds.
The bad news is that it has enough sound to make you forget the time just by checking it.
I’m still using this library taking notes when I find interesting sounds.
Sheldon – :
Huge sample library will tons of useful sounds. I still have not finished auditioning the 800 instrument that is included after spending hours.
Wolfgang – :
I was quite sceptical about spending 10 Euros for something that once was even free, but it’s absolutely worth it. The amount of sounds is so big you can’t spend time with this plugin without being inspired!
Mauro – :
great sounds and great value – very useful sounds from ambient pads to bass to leads and arps etc – excellent quality!
Andrew – :
As you can gather from the other reviews, this thing’s a monster of sounds !!! I love it and yes, I still haven’t got through all of them. Even if the rest were garbage (which based on what I’ve already heard is unlikely), the ones I’ve already used were well worth the price (which is way cheap !!). Well recommended purchase that will add to your creations, enjoy !!!
Darren – :
All of this content easily tweakable coupled with the routing, two LFOs per note, ease of use and all the rest make it a great addition to your library.
Peyton – :
Downloaded the original Shortnoise here on VSTBuzz (for free). Was so impressed I searched for info about it and found out about Shortnoise 2. This is a fabulous sequel to the original! Top notch sound quality, usable sounds, sequencer is awesome! 10/10! Well worth the price!
Adam – :
Definitely one of the best of my recent purchases.
Huge amount of great sounds, for every genre of music.
GUI simple, clear, no unnecessary bytes.
Fantastic product!!!
Dalton – :
I was very skeptical at first, because you always know these inexpensive Kontakt instruments always seem to have a catch. This one had a catch for sure, it’s a hidden gem! Absolutely a great deal for this at $10.
Claudio – :
Little Price, GREAT performance! Shortnoise 2 in a complete engine for create a lot of tracks and for good sound design. Love it.
Christopher – :
I am primarily a guitarist, but, I’ve worked on over 449 + films as the [ri,ary composer in my career as a film composer. Syffice to saym it was with the use of orchestral libraries, and other virtual instruments that cost HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS od dollard more than this beautiful littlr VSTi here…Remarkable what this has oppened up to so many musicians on a budget…yet still dream BIG music.

Good sounds a lot of fun to imagine a new world. I like it when you have time to create something in your mind. Many details to find out and make a good sound when you have some ideas. Myself and my friend have been working with this idea since we started working with this product.
