The Outboard Gear Used for Additional Processing

EMU Systems SP-1200

Released in 1987 the SP-1200 was originally intended to be used a drum machine.  However, it’s capacity for phrase sampling produced a desirable grittiness and warmth that became it’s hallmark feature.

This gritty effect was due to the machines 26.04 kHz sampling rate, and is the main reason why the SP-1200 is still relevant today, even after the invention of more technical samplers.

The classic SP-1200 tone has been transmitted into the samples inside of “Vintage Machines”.

Here you will find it’s signature warmth and grit added to the Roland TR-808, TR-727, TR-606, Sequential DrumTraks, Linndrum, and RSF DD30.

Akai s950

The Akai s950 sampler was Akai’s first professional sampler released in 1986.  It has 12-bit stereo sampling, 7.5kHz to 40kHz variable sampling rates and a maximum of 63 seconds of sample time at 7.5kHz.

Finding it’s way into widespread popular usage, the sampler was used by artist such as Fatboy Slim, Moby, Skinny Puppy, Depeche Mode, Future Sound of London, Sneaker Pimps, The Bomb Squad, Dr. Dre, DJ Premiere, Prince Paul, Vangelis, Digable Planets, A Guy Called Gerald and Asian Dub Foundation.

In this sample pack you will find many pitch alterations of the original drum machine samples. Used on the Roland TR-808, TR-727, TR-606, Sequential DrumTraks, and Linndrum, you will find an greatly expanded collection of the original collection with various pitches available for a wider variety of uses.

MPC3000

Probably the best known piece of gear, the MPC3000 features 16-bit stereo 44.1kHz sampling.

Still widely used today, the machine found it’s original glory through artists such as Puff Daddy, BT, The Crystal Method, Jean-Michel Jarre, Dr. Dre, DJ Quick, Battlecat, Jermaine Dupri and The Chemical Brothers.

In this sample collection the MPC3000 was used to create clean alterations of the original drum machines.

You will find an expanded collection of the original sounds pitched up or down.

Used on the Roland TR-808, TR-707, Sequential Drum, LinnDrum, Oberheim DMX, and RSF DD30, you will find each library expanded and enhanced in unique and highly useable ways.

Lexicon 200

This fun digital reverberator is an early example of reverb machines that were commonly used in drum machine setups. In this sample pack you will find the Lexicon 200 used only on the Roland TR-606.

Open up the folder to discover the predictable Roland drum sound transformed into a spacious and dynamic hit.

The Lexicon 200 reverb adds a unique 80’s character to each of the samples, giving you more interesting sounds to play with straight out of box.
