Echorec – A Legendary-Sounding Delay
Vintage Echorec devices are known for their saturation, self-oscillation, and oversound, all shaping the music produced in the 70s. They are also, however, known to be fragile and difficult to maintain.
For this plugin three different units, in different conditions, have been precisely modeled, to have all sounds from the cleanest magnetic delay, to the most grunge. The Echorec will offer you:
- The sound of a legendary machine that has marked the history of music
- The unique ability to create rhythmic delays using its 4 read heads
- A delay of unequalled sound density, making it easier to place in the music
- The advantages of “organic” analog sound as well as the advantages of digital sound (presets, parameter automation, etc.)
These additions and the signature sound of the Binson Echorec 2 make this echo a must-have tool for any mixer who wants to add the subtle analog life, which is sorely lacking in digital delay plugins.

A Unique Custom Modification Of The Classic 60’s Binson Echo/Delay Unit
Why It’s Unique
The Pulsar Echorec plugin gives you a faithful emulation of the legendary echo unit of the same name; furthermore, many workflow improvements have been added to the original, such as the ability to change the motor speed (and so the delay time) in real time or to sync it to any tempo, including a tapped tempo.

So What Can I Do With “Echorec”?
With “Echorec” Pulsar Audio have taken three different units, in different conditions and precisely modeled them for this plugin to emulate the sound that contributed to the audio signature of many 70s bands: Pink Floyd, The Shadows, Jimmy Page etc.
- Authentic tube sound – The exact sound of the all-tube input section of the Binson Echorec has been precisely replicated.
- Magnetic field recreation – Complex processes in the Echorec disk involving magnetic saturation and hysteresis have been precisely modeled.
- Stereo Drift – an improvement to the original hardware design, Pulsar Audio added the possibility of slightly detuning the left and right channels.
- Creative Modulations – emulates the ability to slow the disk down with a finger, resulting in creative pitch modulation or wow and flutter effects on the delayed signal.
- Off Mode – reproduces the color and grit of the delayed signal, without any delay.
This is a must-have tool for any mixer who wants to add the subtle analog life which is sorely lacking in digital delay plugins.

Great delay plugin! I can’t compare it to the original unit, but this sounds great and looks awesome
Dor – :
ive been waiting to get this one and its just a no brainier now, such a good easy sounding echo, nothing like it really in terms of simplicity and sound, and a great drive too!
Zoltan – :
Really, really cool! It has that vintage taste! I’m doing surf rock, so this is a must have… 😉
David – :
Superb emulation of a now rare classic analoque echo. It has power and clarity combined. A bargain at this price – thanks!
Colin – :
I have experience with the sound of the Binson unit, and Pulsar really captured it’s lush character well. The way note repeats stack and stack upon each other whilst remaining recognizable and expansive across the stereo field is spot on. Love it!

I cannot believe I waited until the final hours of this deal to download the trial and give this plugin a test run before deciding whether I really needed it or not.
I knew it was going to be tempting, but I just wasn’t sure how tempting. It turned out that it was way more than just a temptaation–this is an absolute MUST-HAVE plugin for anyone doing any serious mixes. It sounds utterly amazing with almost any instrument signal you use it on. My jaw was on the floor as I listened to the richness of the sounds it produces. The artifacts are heavenly.
No matter how good you think your virtual guitars sound already, you won’t believe how much better they can sound with a bit of this! I can’t wait to plug in a real guitar!
Seriously folks… if you are reading this and there is still time, I strongly urge you to grab it while you can… and start paying attention to Pulsar. They seem to be making some very good sound tools.

I’ve always wanted to get the real unit in good condition but have not been encountered by luck.
This seemed like a good compromise at first but I watched the video and found out it is actually great not only for guitars but awesome for vocals. I will have fun with this. Thank you.
