I don’t use for a long time yet.
This could make them move easily more than I thought.
I’d like to use for a long time in order to enjoy oneself now.
Logan – :
I love these simple plugins that give you a new perspective on music. It’s an awesome little thing and I’m very happy that I could add it to my creative toolset.
Thomas – :
Amazing. This tool goes beyond exploring chord progressions. It’s also one of the most intuitive learning modules for music theory. Drop the books, just mess around with this.
Jan-Willem – :
Very nice. Easy to work with! I really like the interface. Keeps me in my flow. Will use this a lot if im struggling with inspiration
Graham – :
Works exactly as shown in the videos, no manual needed. It provides an easy way to discover more interesting chord progressions. Its also easy to record the midi output too, then edit it to make the performance sound more ‘human’, rather than just solid block chords. I’ve had some unusual behaviour in Cubase 9.5 when using it, but its too early to tell whether that is much of an issue. So far, I’m happy with the product, and for the sale price its a bargain.
Sebastian – :
Cool Software once you get it working!
Can inspire new chord ideas but get your theory on, Dont skip that step! 🙂
Kenneth – :
I find this to be a very unique tool for my creativity. The ‘discovery’ factor is great in that Forager comes up with chords I might not initially play on my own. Works in Mark of the Unicorn’s Digital Performer. I particularly like the random feature because I never know what I am going to get and it helps me to continually push my boundaries. The value is great for the price.
Luis – :
Have tried every chord progression software on the market and nothing worked for me. Forager was a total game changer, I’m using it for almost any song I produce.
Markus – :
I own InstaChord, Scaler and I also work with Cubase (which also has a very good chord function).
I bought Forager anyway because it is so simple and easy to use (very well explained in the video).
Of course, the range of functions cannot be compared with Scaler, but I will probably still use Forager more often in the future, precisely because it is so limited.
Runs stable for me under Ableton Live and Windows 10.

This is a simple to use, but rich and useful plugin. At root, it generates (MIDI) chords in any key, modality – but you can tweak things further to include, or exclude certain notes, or certain chord types – I’ve found it really useful for generating ideas – I am not musical enough to know when to put in a major 13th or minor 11th, but I can hear what they sound like, and how they “fit” with other chords. The interface is clear, easy to use. I also like the fact that it is fairly “Minimal” – I tried a trial of somethign similar, but that would fill in whole progressions for you, based on “mood” – seemed little point in me actually being there!. This is a great idea generator, or for “filling in” new chords in progressions you already have. Good stuff.
Takehiro – :
This plugin helps to make inspication for making phrases.
Thanks for more easy to create some songs!
Faran – :
I own Scaler and InstaChord but wanted something simpler to use for quick results. That is what Forager gives you.
Kenjii – :
I have similar plugins, but Forager has opened me up to chords that I never even attempted to play. The easy way Forager allows me to create more complex and new sounding chord progression is a plus to my workflow.
Chris – :
I have found Forager to be such a useful tool for rapid inspiration. I can throw it on a track and come up with really interesting musical ideas in minutes. Love it.
David – :
I’ve been using Scaler 2 for a while, but there come times when I can hear in my head where I want to go next, but I’d have to know where it is in order to get there. With Forager you get to play with the available chords to get the right one really quickly. Highly recommended for comparing what your next chord will be.
Troy – :
This is exactly what I needed to expand my use of chords. The video explained everything quickly and in a way that was easy to understand. After playing around with it for a few minutes, it has catapulted its way to being my favorite chord plugin! Additionally, the GUI is simple and clean and makes Forager a joy to work with.
Kenneth – :
I got Scaler and other midi melody tools… but then… here’s my new go-to midi tools for melody and harmony inspirations FORAGER!
James – :
useful for finding the right chord … I had a great melody – knew just where it wanted to go – but finding the right chord / perfect chord to support was confounding – was also useful in finding chords (not just inversions) for variety elsewhere in piece … this works as giving you options – not suggestions (as other “composition” programs do cf the WA programs or Scaler) – in that regard it is useful as a reference more than a tool per se …
francois – :
This is a great tool to help inspiration flowing when you know nothing about chords or chord progression (or just a little). Pretty easy to set up in comparison to other tools like Obelisk or Instachord (I should eventually revisit them one day…). If you are using FL Studio, record your input notes in Forager and then use the Burn-in function to convert your midi in as Forager’s midi out to see the actual chords being played. You should be able to copy/paste and rearrange the chords as you wish in other instruments.
David – :
Very nice to have all the chords for any key at your fingertips. You can also add in other chords “outside” the key for more interesting progressions. Being able to trigger them with a midi pad is the fun part-Thanks!
Sheldon – :
I have Scaler 2, but Forager offers some functionalities a bit different like the random choosing of chords. I would say, they compliment each other pretty good. However, I discovered some chord names in a given scale are wrong, hope the developer will fix it in the next version.
Lloyd – :
Aside from the ability to create exciting new chord progressions on the fly, I am always appreciate of new ways to find the perfect chords to add to an existing song to either create a new section or find substitution chords that will make the progression even more delicious. This product is another great tool for doing both those things and exploring chord possibilities easily and with quite a bit of control. I’m very pleased!
Joby – :
A simple and powerful way to get great chord sets. I have most if the latest MIDI chord products and this is up there as one of the most useful and inspiring. Great work guys.
DAVID – :
Great product for all music composers of all genres. Will hasten composition with less efforts without any music theory. The product creativity is enormous.
Philip – :
Great tool to help spark an idea and keep you music moving forward. We all need a little help sometimes coming up with something to keep moving forward and Forager is a plugin that can keep you making music
Sven – :
Very impressive and flexible to use chord vst. Widens my creative possibilities in composing arrangements. Like it!
