VLA-2A Vintage
The optoelectronic godfather. The world’s finest emulation of THE optoelectronic compressor of the late 60s. Let the VLA-2A plugin feature your signals’ dynamic in a lively and extraordinarily musical way. Great for vocals, strings, and horns.
Black Rooster Audio have put all of their knowledge, engineering skill and heart into designing the most authentic native emulation of this unit to date. The VLA-2A is fantastic on drums, but it also performs outstandingly well on bass or vocals and carefully adjusting the compression really helps to make your signals shine and just sit in the mix.
Authentic Circuit Emulation
Black Rooster’s real-time component based circuit simulation approach allows for authentically capturing the sound and feel of the analog unit as close as possible. All the crucial parts, including in- and output transformers, sidechain and audio path tube stages, filters and of course the T4A cell have been faithfully modeled and matched with an original ’68 reference unit.
SSE2 Optimized Code
DSP operations are pipelined using the SSE2 instruction set. This ensures high-performance operation despite very complex computations.
Auto-adjusted Oversampling For Maximum Audio Transparency

VLA-FET Vintage FET
A legendary studio staple, with a unique upgrade. Inspired by one of the most famous leveling amplifiers in studio history, the VLA-FET emulates the distinct circuitry of its 70s counterpart – Lundahl transformers and all – only with the addition of an Auto Fast release mode and a high-pass filter on the sidechain. This plugin gives you incredible variety and the most intuitive manipulation of dynamics.
Besides the classic parameters, Black Rooster Audio added some modern touch and functionality to the unit, to make you even more flexible. The Emulation is instigated by the classic LN Rev F, with Lundahl transformers and an op-amp input stage similar to the LA-4A, that have been formulated in detail, striving for an authentic vintage sound.

Easy to use but the sound is so great! I especially like VLA-3A. It provides very natural and musically compressed sound that I expected. I really like it! Off course, VLA-2A and VLA-FET are also great. I use VLA-FET in almost all tracks.
