The “Sound” of Aria LSS Solo Strings
Aria Sounds’ “LSS Solo Strings Bundle” were sampled in a large beautiful concert hall, with many microphones, making up four main, mixable mic perspectives.
Each instrument has four mic positions – Close mono, Close pair, Mid and Far, with a great diversity from close clear and dry to a full blown reverb-y room sound.
This unique recording technique means that he difference in perspectives is huge, you can create sounds ranging from a very dry and up close sound, to a singing, naturally reverberated distant violin – as well as many degrees between the two.
The Viola (4.4GB)
Full list of available articulations:
- Slur Legato – Slurred legato intervals
- Bowed Legato – Legato with bow changes at the intervals
- Portamento Legato – Legato with slides/portamento at the intervals
- Soft Release Normal note releases with a smooth removal of the bow from the string
- Hard Releases – Hard releases where the player crescendos and aggressively lifts the bow from the string
- Staccato – Staccato articulation with 24 variations per note (three layers of 8RR)
- Whole Tone Trills
Three legato modes for each instrument!
Three legato modes were sampled – slurred, bowed and portamento, and these are easily switchable during use via keyswitches.
One exceptionally useful feature, which even now is rarely seen in solo string libraries, is the ability to change bow on the same note. Simply hold the note you want to change bow on, and press the low G keyswitch.
Aria have tailored the settings, fade curves and envelopes of the legato in each of these instruments meticulously so each articulation has it’s own specially tweaked setting for a great sound!

The Double Bass (4GB)

Unique release modes!
Another feature included is the ability to alter the release sound when the final note is played and released.
A soft release is a normal removal of the bow from the string, but through keyswitching, you can also select hard release, which triggers a hard release. This is the sound of a player ending the note with a sharp crescendo and quick accented lift of the bow.

Hi,
Lovely sounding strings at least to my ears and for the price I paid at vstbuzz I am very happy.
Alexander – :
Excellent sounding solo strings! Not that many different articulations, but the price is amazing for the amount of content. And three different solo string instruments make this well worth it. I prefer the sound of this bundle to other libraries in a similar (budget) price range.

this is masterpiece
Beppe – :
Great sounds for a very affordable price! Especially portamento mode offers a very realistic sound.
I use it also in combination with s larger strings section to have the detail of the first rows and it’s beautiful.
In future version I’d like a vibrato control if is possible, although the vibrato recorded is very realistic.
Great!
arturrkivilaht – :
Great sounding samples at the fraction of the cost of other solo string libraries. Very happy buyer.

I have the London Symphony Strings Bundle and wanted the solo strings but it was much to expensive. Checked on Google Shop and London Solo Strings was on offer. The product sounds wonderful and you don’t get this jarring when changing from tremolo and trills and the volume unlike another companies offering for a full orchestra which seems to have been recorded individually rather that run through all the articulations in one go at different volumes. The volumes on the are same across articulations. There is no manual with this item look up the video online because they Aria tell in one session how the sound set works. You can set up key switches. It isn’t clear that the switches for violin and viola start at C0 onwards. The only bit I couldn’t get to work on KS is the soft and hard release. I suspect between bows you add a small direction KS. Makes sense. The product is dead easy to use. The sounds are perfect. You could I suspect write of make a string quartet or quintet with these instruments and they’d sound like a professional band. Glad I saw it at this price. You get the sounds and about 5 key switches which is you really need. There is also another KS that is interesting. The G0 act’s as up up bow or down bow or up half bow and down half bow. I think that is what the video said.

The solo strings in this collection are superb. They are of superior quality with great playability.
Darcey – :
I bought for the Viola, Cello and Violin, sounds fine a good 7 or 8 out of 10 for sound quality. The shame is that poly doesn’t work on all the sustain versions of each of the instruments, so far seems like only 1 has a mode allows you to play more than 1 key at a time, but am still working it out. If not will just use multiple instances of it.
Klars – :
Great dolo library for the reduced price. But there are only few articulations, for the regular price I would expext more.
Mahmoud – :
Sound good for the price ❤️❤️
Gonna help me with my metal productions without paying 500 dollars
Thank you vstbuzz
Much love
